Make today Ridiculously Amazing and join the Amazing Stellenbosch Race.

Stellenbosch

Our town is an ideal getaway year-round. It all started when the town was founded in 1679 by the Governor to the Cape Colony, Simon van der Stel who named it after himself – “(van der) Stel’s Bush”. It is situated on the banks of the Eerste Rivier, so-called as it was the first new river Simon van der Stel reached and followed when he went on an expedition to explore new land opportunities.

Today our historic town centre is a living museum with vibrant street culture. The visitor can expect friendly locals and a host of lively events, from art, music and history to outdoor pursuits and adventure.

The Adventure Shop

Situated close to the banks of the Eerste Rivier, 1 Noordwal – Wes Road, Ou Landbousaal, is where the visitor will find the Adventure Shop. They have been in the tourism business since 2000. They offer E-bike tours, cycling trips, private wine tours and the Vine Hopper to thrill and make your Winelands stay memorable.

If somebody offers you an amazing opportunity, but you are not sure you can do it, say yes - then learn how to do it later!

The Amazing Stellenbosch Race

The Adventure Shop created a fun activity based on the TV program Amazing Race. The race is split into legs, with teams tasked to deduce clues, navigate themselves in areas in Stellenbosch, interact with locals and perform physical and mental challenges that often highlight aspects of the culture and history of our town. Arriving at one goal is the starting point to another.

It is not just a race; it’s a journey in which you enjoy the moment and make time for yourself and what your mind needs and what your heart longs for.

In all the activities are a sense of adventure and a hunger for the prize. But most of all, it is about teamwork; about helping your friends and keeping them motivated, pushing forward as a group past their comfort zone.

The race is all about camaraderie, friendship, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle.

Problem-solving and teambuilding activities are part of the race, plus a surprise “fear factor” activity. There will also be a bonus station on the map that is not a compulsory stop, but you will get bonus points if you reach this station in the time allowed for the race.

The tempo of the race will depend on the teams themselves. Teams must, however, stick together at all times (except at the bonus station). Distance covered during the race will be approximately between 5 km and 7 km.

Coming together is the beginning
Keeping together is progress
Working together is success

Coming together as a corporate group will be a most rewarding experience. Your competitive instinct will amaze your friends, and keeping together as a team ensure progress towards a goal. By working together, success awaits the group. ” The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team” – P. Jackson

With an enthusiastic team, you can achieve almost anything.

When you have confidence, you can have a lot of fun. And when you have fun, you can do amazing things

The Amazing Race is about having fun. It’s never too late to accomplish something extraordinary. Fill your life with experiences, not things. Students, school groups can go out there and have fun, and they will have stories to tell!

The Amazing Stellenbosch Race wants you to make time for yourself and to recognize the special people you’ve been blessed to know. Birthdays are special events to be celebrated with such an amazing race. It is all about who you share it with! The finish line will be just the beginning of a whole new race.

Trust the process. Your time is coming. Just do the work, and the results will handle themselves

The prizegiving includes fun prizes at one of our local restaurants where you will have an option for lunch. But in the end, it is the realization that life is not about winning the race. It is about finishing it and about how many people we can all help to finish the race.

My last thought before I start the race: ” Why am I doing this? My first thought when I finish the race: ” When can I do it again?”

The Amazing Stellenbosch Race is here to stay!
