Cycle tour through Stellenbosch Winelands

This bicycle tour combines the beautiful scenery and sites of Historic Stellenbosch with some excellent wine pairings and some healthy outdoor exercise in the winelands.

The cycle tour starts at  9:30 at the Adventureshop (located at Stellenbosch’s Tourist Information Center) where each rider will collect a bike and helmet to suite their size. We will also carry a snack pack and water is provided.  The guide will carry saddle panniers for those who would like to buy wine en route.

Your guide will then take you via some interesting historic sites of Stellenbosch Town, into the scenic Jonkershoek Valley. 
A winding road through oak and poplar forests will take you to a wine estate nestled in the valley bottom, where you can take  in the stunning views while doing wine tasting of  some award winning wines. 
This will be followed by a circular route taking you further into the Jonkershoek Valley where you can enjoy fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and winelands.
On the way out of the valley, you will stop at another wine estate which sports beautiful grounds and historic Cape Dutch architecture. Here we will do a Chocolate and Wine pairing that will make your taste buds tingle.

After the tasting we will cycle back into Stellenbosch Town and do a short drive through the Stellenbosch University before we end again at the Stellenbosch Tourism office.

There are some variations to the route, with varying levels of difficulty so the tour can be tailored to suite your cycling ability.
