Pony Trekking in LesothoWe offer Horse Riding in Stellenbosch and Paarl and longer trips like pony trekking in the Lesotho Mountains! Horses are available for all skill levels. It is a very unique way to discover the world from Horseback!

Stellenbosch Horse Rides

  1. Riding per hour and not booking a particular package    R200 / hour / person

  2. Wine tasting tours on horse back:
  3. 1hr – 1hr30min ride including one wine tasting afterwards R250 / person
  4. 4hr horse tour including two wine tastings (incl. wine tasting time) R595 / person

  5. For below picnic packages we require a minimum of two people:
  6. 1hr – 1hr30min ride including a picnic afterwards at the wine farm R425 / person
  7. 1hr – 1hr30min ride including one wine tasting and a picnic afterwards R475 / person
  8. 4hr horse tour including a picnic and one wine tasting (incl. wine tasting and picnic time) R725 / person
  9. *Picnics exclude drinks
  10. We ride on the following wine farms on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Klapmuts:  Delvera, Warwick, Remhoogte, Morgenhof, Knorhoek
  11. *Riding times will vary due to the level of experience of the riders, with a big group we usually only walk as most of the guests have never been on a horse or are very inexperienced.  We cater for experienced riders too but prefer to take them in a separate group so as not to unsettle the nervous riders
  12. *Children from the age of 5 are welcome to join an outride
  13. *All levels of experience are welcome, complete novice (never been on a horse before) to experienced riders
  14. *The wine farms close at 5pm so if the clients want a picnic or wine tasting we must plan accordingly
  15. *Rides are payable in cash or EFT before departure
  16. *Riding helmets must be worn when riding, supplied by Equine Sport Centre
  17. *Indemnity forms must be signed before commencing the ride

  • Home cooked meals are served at the Malealea Lodge.
  • Linen is supplied in all rooms except the Forest Huts.
  • There is a bar and a shop on site that sells basic food supplies.
  • PLEASE BRING TORCHES OR FLASHLIGHTS. We use a generator for electricity and lights are on only from 6.00pm – 10.00pm.
  • We have two basic self-catering, backpacker-type communal kitchens.
